Great Smokey Mountain National Park
We chose to use River Rat tubing company for our tubing adventure. Their newly constructed River Rat, Outpost A is awesome!
Secondly, this is the most fun we’ve ever had on tubes floating down a river.
For some of us (namely me), just getting on the tube can be a challenge LOL! My butt didn’t exactly hit the hole and PLOP! into the shockingly cold water I went. After a quick recovery (and when Mike stopped laughing), we were on our way.
We splashed through a series of relaxing rapids and swimming holes. We did not take the plunge and jump off our private River Rat rock jump along your route, but it did look like a blast.
We did enjoy the gorgeous Smoky Mountain views on our Main Outpost (A) float, the cool water and the fun of the small rapids.
Remember – you have access to both A and B routes all day ’til the last trip time of the day, so arrive earlier to get the most paddle, splash, and play out of your tubing pass! We arrived around 10:30 to get the additional discount for early birds. We were able to fit in a total of 3 trips and a quick lunch before the end of the day.
Trip #1 and #3 was from Outpost A. The combined pictures are above.
Trip #2 was from Outpost B. Although we enjoyed the “more adventurous” route, it was pretty short at between 30-40 minutes. and we failed to get any photos as we were having too much fun.
