Maine Adventures, First Stop: Eastport
So as life has it, I’ve gotten very-very-very behind on posting and so to catch up I’m going to fast forward from our travels leaving the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Our first stop out of New Hampshire was to Maine. Eastport, to be exact.
With a camping spot right on the shore of Passamaquoddy Bay in a quaint campground, Seaview Campground, Cottages and Motel, it was a little slice of heaven.

Eastport, Maine
We were in this quaint little village for a 7-Night stay. Eastport is know a the least-populated city in Maine and the easternmost city in the United States with the first Sun Rise of the day. While we were there in mid-August, that time was around 4 AM!

Quoddy Head State Park, Lubec Maine
All of our adventures were quite a drive, but it was certainly special to spend time in this quiet small town.

One of the first adventures was to travel to Quoddy Head State Park, a 532-acre park along the Maine coast is located near Lubec, Maine the easternmost point of land in the United States. Although it was 41-miles and almost an hour drive from Eastport, they both claimed that they were (1) the easternmost point of land in the U.S. and (2) they were the first sunrise in the U.S.
There are several walking trails and they are all beautiful.

St Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada

We took advantage of a rainy day and drove an hour over the border into Canada to walk the streets of this touristy historic site. We walked the pier marveling at the brave souls heading out for boat tours on this particularly foggy and rainy day. We dined in a streetside café, enjoyed a local brew at a brewery, coffee and sweets at a cozy coffee shop and browsed the shops. We later drove to the Green Point Lighthouse, It was constructed in 1883, and is located on the rugged point of rural Port de Grave Peninsula. It serves as a secondary coastal light, guiding vessel .

Boot Head Preserve, Lubec Maine
Boot Head Preserve features moss-lined paths to coastal bogs, cobble beaches and rocky promontories that offer stunning views of Maine’s Bold Coast.

In Closing
It was a lovely stay in a quaint area of Maine so if you are looking to kick back and relax this is your place. We were anxious to move to our next adventure with was Acadia National Park.
